Genealogy Testing
Y-STR Patrilineal Test
A Y-STR test will take between 3-4 weeks from the time the last sample is received in our testing laboratory. Orchid Cellmark will release a notarized DNA test report which will indicate a likelihood of patrilineal relatedness. The written report will include:
- Names of Tested Parties
- Date of Specimen Collection for each Tested Party
- Date of Sample Receipt for each Tested Party
- A listing of the individual Y-STR profiles for each Tested Party
- A Patrilineal Relationship Index
- A Probability of Patrilineal Relatedness
- A statement of Conclusion
Mitochondrial DNA Matrilineal Test
A mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) test will take between 4-8 weeks from the time the last sample is received in our testing laboratory. Orchid Cellmark will release a notarized DNA test report which will indicate a likelihood of matrilineal relatedness. The written report will include:
- Names of Tested Parties
- Date of Specimen Collection for each Tested Party
- Date of Sample Receipt for each Tested Party
- A listing of the individual mtDNA profiles for each Tested Party
- A Matrilineal Relationship Index
- A Probability of Matrilineal Relatedness
- A statement of Conclusion
