Forensic Paternity Analysis
Forensic paternity is the establishment of paternity in a criminal case. Forensic paternity testing can be used in the following situations:
- To determine the biological father from products of conception in rape or incest cases
- To identify found human remains by testing the individuals believed to be the biological parents of the deceased
Depending on the state of the evidence, Orchid Cellmark offers traditional STR analysis or Y-STR analysis. Orchid Cellmarks extensive experience in paternity DNA testing can facilitate criminal investigations that rely on paternity or biological relationship evidence.
DNA tests that assess the biological relationships between the donor of questioned evidence and the alleged relatives can be critical to successfully building or defending a case.
