DNA Analysis in the Investigation of the Murder of Rachel Nickell

Cellmark Forensic Services is pleased to have been able to assist the Metropolitan Police in the investigation of the murder of Rachel Nickell. Working with colleagues at Forensic Alliance since 2002, scientists at Cellmark provided the DNA analysis which established the link with Robert Napper who today pleaded guilty to Rachel Nickell's murder.

Cellmark provides a wide range of forensic laboratory services to support the work of the police. In particular Cellmark is a specialist in DNA analysis which it has provided since 1987. The development of forensic DNA testing during this time has made it possible to provide identification from smaller and smaller amounts of DNA. Our scientists are pleased that their expertise has helped the police in this case.
