1. What Types of Testing Do You Do?
Orchid Cellmark conducts DNA paternity and maternity testing in adoption cases. Other types of relationships, such as kinshiptesting, can be performed in post-adoption reunions.
2. Do I have to have a doctor’s order?
A doctor’s order is not generally required. However, in compliance with New York State Law, Orchid Cellmark requires a prescription or court order for all DNA identity and/or relationship tests performed on a New York resident.
3. Do I need an attorney or court order?
If all parties involved in the testing agree to participate voluntarily, neither an attorney nor court order is required. However in compliance with New York State Law, Orchid Cellmark requires a prescription or court order for all DNA identity and/or relationship tests performed on a New York resident.
4. Do you perform Adoption Testing in Other Countries?
Orchid Cellmark performs DNA testing in adoption cases for children originating from other countries such as Haiti when requested by the Department of State or the Department of Homeland Security.
5. For international adoption cases, does your test meet Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security Requirements?
All of Orchid Cellmark’s procedures for international DNA testing, are in compliance with the requirements of accreditation agencies, the Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security.
